Job Purpose
On behalf of our happy client, we are seeking a competent, detail‑oriented Accountant to oversee the company's financial operations, ensure statutory compliance, and support efficient financial management within our oil processing and manufacturing operations. The Accountant will ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and strong internal financial systems to support sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Management
- Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare management accounts and financial performance reports
- Monitor company cash flow and liquidity position
Cost Accounting & Inventory Control
- Monitor raw material consumption and production cost records
- Prepare production cost analysis reports
- Maintain inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Conduct periodic stock reconciliation with production and warehouse teams
- Analyze production variances and recommend improvements
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and report variances
- Support management in financial planning and decision making
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, WHT, SDL, and Corporate Tax returns
- Ensure compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Oversee supplier payments and ensure timely processing
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts regularly
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and monitor financial control procedures
- Safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures
Payroll & Administrative Support
- Oversee payroll preparation and statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with labor and tax regulations related to payroll
- Support procurement processes with financial verification
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (T) or ACCA qualification (Full or Finalist preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or agro‑processing
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax laws
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in cost accounting will be an added advantage
