Job Summary
On behalf of a leading maize factory located in Dodoma, we are looking for an Accountant to manage the financial activities of the factory by ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of all financial transactions. The role supports production efficiency through cost control, budget monitoring, and compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS
- Maintain daily transaction records, including petty cash, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations
- Process daily, weekly, and monthly production figures, including maize receipts and output
- Analyze daily/monthly budget variances and report on production efficiency
- Monitor, value, and report on inventory, including raw maize stock, work-in-progress, and finished maize products
- Perform regular stock takes and reconcile physical stock with system records
- Calculate cost of production, including raw materials, direct labor, and overhead expenses (machinery maintenance, electricity)
- Manage factory payroll, including wages and overtime calculations for production staff
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage statutory payments
Qualifications & Experiences
- BAF (bachelor's in accounting & finance) qualification preferably. CPA is ana added advantage
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of basic cost accounting principles is an advantage
- 30 years of age and above
- Strong preference will be given to candidates who are already residing in Dodoma
