Role Overview
The Lubricants Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales, distribution, and market growth of the company’s lubricants portfolio across Tanzania. The role requires deep knowledge of the lubricants industry, and proven ability to develop and manage dealer, distributor, and B2B networks. The Lubricants Sales Manager will play a key role in achieving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market share.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for the lubricants division in alignment with company objectives
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in B2B, B2C, and industrial segments
- Build and manage a strong distributor/dealer network to ensure effective market coverage
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Market Expansion & Strategy
- Conduct regular market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and customer trends
- Recommend product positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies
- Support brand-building initiatives to enhance market visibility
- Introduce new product lines and ensure successful market entry
Key Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, transport companies, and industrial clients
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements with customers and partners
- Provide after-sales support to strengthen customer loyalty
Operations & Compliance
- Oversee distribution planning, order fulfillment, and stock management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Monitor financial performance, margins, and receivables in the lubricants division
Team Management & Reporting
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the lubricants sales team to achieve business objectives
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training/coaching
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and reports to senior management
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Achievement of sales volume and revenue targets for lubricants
- Market share growth in lubricants segment
- Expansion and performance of distributor and dealer networks
- Customer acquisition, satisfaction, and retention rates
- Gross margin and profitability of the lubricant’s portfolio
- Sales team productivity and target achievement
