Job Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and direction to the pack house team
- Ensuring horticultural products (french beans or herbs) are processed as per the specifications
- Maintaining Quality product output
- Pack house team performance appraisal and development
- Ensuring profitable use of company property
- Enforcing health and safety procedures and policies in the pack house
- Inspecting pack house documents to ensure accuracy and consistency at all times
- Ensuring there is efficient product grading and processing
- Ensuring all equipment and process areas are safe, clean and tidy and meet OSH and company requirements and ensure support staff are trained in and are conducting safe operating procedures for all equipment and machinery on site
- Ensuring that all company pack house policies & procedures are adhered to by staff
- Effective control of all employee relations, disciplinary, grievance and absenteeism related matters
- Overseeing the distribution/logistics from the pack house to market/airport
- Managing and ensuring all pack house technical specifications are implemented, managed, recorded, monitored and audibled as per the company specifications
Major Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University preferably in Horticulture or any agricultural related discipline
- 3 - 5 years in an export focused horticulture pack house (ideally with experience of french beans or herbs)
- Qualified by experience in Global GAP, HACCP
- Written
and spoken English plus computer knowledge
Horticulture for export handling experience is a must - Knowledge of pack house operations/ systems management
Leadership with maturity and high emotional intelligence - Ability to analyze, communicate, manage and prioritize multiple technical issue
Strong planning and execution skills
