Job Purpose
This
position will be responsible for calling on distributors, end users, architects,
consultants, system integrators, installers and more. The job holder will
promote and sell the full range of Yale products for all retail, commercial and
‘project’ purposes.
Responsibilities
- Forecast
sales target monthly with Sales Manager
- Responsible
for achieving and exceeding set sales targets
- Create new distribution network & grow
existing market share with current clients.
- Ensure Yale in-store branding and positioning
is in line with company guidelines.
- Researching organizations and individuals to create, develop and close new business opportunities.
- Work with the
marketing and leadership team to develop and execute sales and marketing
strategies.
- Maintain accurate
customer and proposal records.
- Prepare and deliver
technical sales presentations and demonstrations showing the capabilities of
the product range.
- Maintain pricing
expectations set by management.
- Build and
strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure that return business
is generated.
- From time-to-time
act as an in-store merchandiser to provide support for existing distributors
and conduct sales training with store sales team
- Provide the most
appropriate solution to satisfy your client’s requirements.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients and following up on payments
- Present sales
pipeline and target reports to sales manager
- Become and
remain fully skilled in all existing and new technologies offered by the company.
- Ad
hoc activities to meet company requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field
- 2+ years sales experience in selling hardware material, retail/wholesale business in building materials industry.
- Experience in selling and managing a complete product
range into various market segments.
- Experienced
with a proven record of accomplishment in selling products and solutions into
these markets.
- Commercially aware and have an excellent understanding
of industry trends and customer demands.
- To
be in the field 85% of the time – critical requirement
- Achieving
and or surpassing sales target - critical requirement
- You are a self-starter and entrepreneur with an appetite for
challenges.
- You are a quick learner and eager to read up on the various
products.
- You have the ability to think strategically and be hands-on
simultaneously, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of the hardware industry
and good relationships with hardware shop owners
- Proven track record in distributor
management and supported field sales in the mentioned region
- You are a committed person that knows
how to win over business partners to manage professionally and generate growth
in a structured manner.
- Strong communication, time management,
negotiation and follow-up skills
- Ability to demonstrate sales
leadership and confident during presentations.
- Ability
to quickly grasp technical information.
- Excellent
communications skills (English and Swahili)
- Proficient
in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid
driver’s license
- Must
have his/her own vehicle.
- Must
have a working smart phone.
- Must
be punctual and abide by company policies.
- Must
have ability to lift up to 28kg without assistance.
