Job Summary

On behalf of our happy client, we are looking for an ambitious Accounts Clerk/Junior Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. He/She will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long term success.

 

Responsibilities

• Receiving cash payments from clients and issuing receipts
  
• Recording all sales purchases
  
• Presenting purchase order and cheques for payments
  
• Billing of invoices once received from creditors
  
• Preparations of financial statements
  
• Placing orders to the suppliers
  
• Management of petty cash and preparation of petty cash expenses
  
• Preparing monthly staff payroll
  
• Computing or filing VAT returns and paying taxes to TRA
  
• Preparing payment vouchers and making payments to suppliers

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or any relevant field
• Proven experience as a Accounts Clerk/Junior Accountant with 3years experience
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with TALLY accounting software
  
• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
