Job Summary
These job opportunities are based in Arusha and Mwanza, and we prefer someone who is already based there. We are looking for Insurance Market Underwriters who are well trained in all lines of
business offering a truly bespoke and personalised service to customers. This is an excellent opportunity for

leading Insurance Broker.
Main Accountabilities
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules
- Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business related needs, as appropriate
- May provide guidance to lower level associates
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers in support of business retention and acquisition
- Work with customers to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions
- Supports the sales culture by being a Help Point for customers
- Qualify accounts to meet with the company appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity
- Make customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose
- Cross-Sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account
- Participate in Sales and Marketing as related to assigned territory
- Serve as a key company contact for assigned target accounts
Major Requirements
- Bsc. in Insurance and Risk Management or any related field
- 2+ years experience in Underwriting with Marketing background
- Excellent communication skills
- Underwriting experience within a General Insurance product
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively assess risk
- Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing, regulations and guidelines
- Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis and win-win negotiating.
